Southern Belize Medical Clinic (SBMC) is a private clinic owned and operated by Dr Hailu and Dr Ayres Mae Hurrissa situated in Independence, Belize. We opened our doors in 1996 and continue to provide quality health care services to the community. SBMC primarily focuses on the care of outpatients. We provide on-demand care with flexible hours.

Primary Care

We provide first-contact care for patients with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern. This includes health promotion, education, disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses.

Orthopaedic

There can be many medical problems that can affect the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. We treat Bone deformities, Fractures, Need for amputation, Nonunions: failure of fractures to heal, Malunions: fractures healing in the wrong position.

Pap Smear

It is recommended that women do regular Pap smear since it can reveal changes in your cervical cells that may turn into cancer. We collect a sample and send it to a laboratory for checking.

Prenatal Care

Having a healthy pregnancy is one of the best ways to promote a healthy birth. Getting early and regular prenatal care help prevents complications and improves the chances of a healthy pregnancy.

Laboratory

Medical laboratory aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. We do laboratory services which include: HIV, Urinalysis, Pregnancy test, Blood Type, and Diagnostic test.
